TENDER DESCRIPTION

The city of Bruchsal plans the construction and operation of a flood retention basin in the Saalbachtal between the Bruchsal district of Helmsheim and the municipality of Gondelsheim. The area is located within the cadastral districts of the city of Bruchsal, the city of Bretten, and the municipality of Gondelsheim. The planned basin is designed for protection against a 100-year flood and comprises a flood retention area of approximately 22 ha with a net retention volume of 380,000 m³. The project constitutes an intervention in nature and landscape according to § 14 para. 1 BNatSchG in conjunction with § 14 para. 1 NatSchG Baden-Württemberg. The intervention must be compensated in accordance with § 15 para. 2 BNatSchG and § 15 para. 2 NatSchG. Therefore, comprehensive ecological investigations were carried out in parallel with the approval phase, and all necessary measures were recorded in an EIA report with an integrated landscape management accompanying plan.
