TENDER DESCRIPTION

On the campus of the University of Stuttgart, the State of Baden-Württemberg, represented by the University Construction Office Stuttgart and Hohenheim, is currently building a new building for the High Performance Computing Center and a waste heat central unit. To supply the new data centre with power and to utilise the waste heat, the construction of an underground, walk-in utility supply channel in several sections is required. This tender includes the construction of the fourth and final section, the so-called “West” section. This section has a length of 300 m (clear width 2.40 m, clear height 2.30 m). The required excavation is produced mainly using sheet pile shoring (bearing piling with struts) and only to a small extent by slope excavation. For clearing the construction site, the utility and disposal lines must be relocated. The contractor’s scope of work includes all complete civil engineering and road construction work, pipe-laying and sewer work, earthworks, special deep foundation engineering, reinforced concrete work and sealing (waterproofing) work.
