TENDER DESCRIPTION

For recycled materials to be used in projects of the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency (Väylävirasto) and regional centres for economic development, transport and the environment (elinvoimakeskukset), a technical suitability assessment must be carried out. According to the guideline “Use of recycled materials in transport construction”, for the use of recycled materials in road and rail infrastructure projects of Väylävirasto and elinvoimakeskukset, either a general technical suitability assessment of Väylävirasto or a project-specific technical suitability assessment is required. Technical suitability assessment is a requirement set by the contracting authority of the transport infrastructure project, with the aim of ensuring the functionality of structures and the safe use of materials. At Väylävirasto, an expert group is responsible for technical suitability assessments of recycled materials. This procurement concerns an expert service to be acquired to support that assessment work for the years 2027–2029, and as an option for the years 2030 and 2031.
