TENDER DESCRIPTION
The City of Vantaa’s Urban Environment division is responsible, among other things, for promoting sustainable urban development, planning, construction and maintenance of public urban spaces, traffic planning, parking supervision, as well as land acquisition and disposal. The Streets and Parks service area within the division includes five service units: Planning, Construction, Maintenance, Permits and Supervision, and Depot. The City of Vantaa has approximately 228,000 residents and the city’s strategic goal is to be a carbon-neutral city by 2030. The Maintenance service unit has responsibility for a total of approximately 1,600 kilometres of roads and light-traffic routes, as well as approximately 860 hectares of built parks. This figure includes, at the time the request for tender is sent, 309 existing bridges and tunnels located in road and park areas, for which maintenance, repair and inspection measures are carried out regularly. To carry out these works, the city needs a reliable, competent and co-operative maintenance contractor.
