TENDER DESCRIPTION

The City of Vantaa’s City Environment division is responsible, among other things, for promoting sustainable urban development, planning and construction of public urban spaces, as well as maintenance, traffic planning, parking supervision, and land acquisition and divestment. The Kadut ja puisto service area in the division includes five service units: Planning, Construction, Maintenance, Permits and supervision, and Depot. The City of Vantaa has about 228,000 residents and the city’s strategic goal is to be a carbon-neutral city by 2030. The Maintenance service unit is responsible for a total of approximately 1,600 kilometres of streets and routes for light traffic, as well as approximately 860 hectares of built parks. This includes, at the time the request for tenders is issued, 309 items of existing bridges and tunnels located in street and park areas, for which regular maintenance, repair and inspection measures are carried out. To carry out these works, the city requires a reliable and competent as well as co-operative maintenance contractor.
