Safety personnel supervise the safe execution of work along or on the railway. This includes, among other things: Workplace Security Leader (LWB): responsible for organising and coordinating safety and workplace security during work. Local Safety Leader (LLV): responsible for local safety measures and for ensuring that work is carried out safely at the workplace. Safety officers (VHP): monitors the safety of employees during work and ensures compliance with the safety regulations. Fire watch (Tunnel Safety): supervisory person deployed for work in tunnels or enclosed spaces, with a view to fire prevention and evacuation procedures. Holds the relevant certifications. Manhole watch (Mangatwacht): supervisory person who supervises outside an enclosed space and monitors the safety of the people working within it.
