The contract timeline is as follows:

The provision of services is expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026 and conclude in the third quarter of 2029.

Key milestones and phases include:

• Award (Vergabe): January 2027
• Basic and Preliminary Planning (Grundlagen und Vorplanung - A0): January 2027 to May 2027. The processing time for the traffic facility is 150 calendar days.
• Preliminary Design (Vorentwurf - C0): June 2027 to September 2027. The processing time for the traffic facility is 120 calendar days.
• Preliminary Design Structure (Vorentwurf Bauwerk - G0): April 2027 to July 2027.
• Approval Design/Building Permit (Feststellungsentwurf/Baurecht - E0): September 2027 to April 2028.
• Structural Design (Bauwerksentwurf - G0) including Preliminary Design Structure (VE BW): April 2027 to January 2028.
• Design Planning RAB-ING (G0): July 2027 to January 2028.
• Execution Planning (Ausführungsplanung - H0): May 2028 to December 2028. The processing time for the traffic facility is 180 calendar days.
• Tendering (Ausschreibung - J0): January 2029 to May 2029. The processing time for the traffic facility is 180 calendar days.

Construction is required to begin by the end of 2029 due to pre-registered rail closures and a remaining useful life until 2030.

The core scope of work for this tender involves comprehensive planning and design services for the replacement new construction project. Key aspects include:

• Planning and Design: Developing and updating planning concepts, including variant analysis to minimize track closures and environmental impact, and creating detailed design and execution documents, such as overview plans, cross-sections, and specific plans for markings and signage. This encompasses preliminary planning, design concept development, and detailed execution planning.
• Cost Management: Performing cost estimations across all service phases, calculating and controlling costs, and comparing them against financial frameworks.
• Tender Preparation: Compiling tender documents, determining quantities, creating service specifications (Leistungsverzeichnisse), and providing support during the awarding process, including responding to bidder inquiries.
• Coordination and Communication: Participating in project meetings, accurately documenting discussions, and ensuring close coordination with relevant departments of DB InfraGO AG and external stakeholders such as municipalities, water authorities, and environmental agencies.
• Risk Management and Quality Assurance: Contributing to CSM risk management procedures and adhering to internal DB quality assurance processes and plan reviews.
• Schedule Management: Creating and maintaining detailed schedules for both the planning and construction phases, including necessary contributions for track closure periods (Sperrpausen).
• Documentation and Data Management: Producing auditable execution documents and delivering all work results in digital formats (dwg/dxf, pdf, docx, xlsx, pptx), with digital object data in OKSTRA, IFC, or SHAPE format, and optionally in analog form.
• BIM Services: Providing Building Information Modeling (BIM) services, which include existing model creation (Bestandsmodellierung), coordination of various trades, quality and collision checks, and systematic conflict resolution through cloud-based issue management.
• Site Inspections: Conducting site visits to accurately assess the scope and requirements of the services.

Excluded from this scope are railway-specific technical planning (e.g., control and safety technology, overhead lines, telecommunications) and internal DB testing services, which are handled by DB InfraGO AG or other specialist planners. However, the contractor is responsible for ensuring the necessary interface coordination for these excluded services.
