TENDER DESCRIPTION

The municipality of Oost Gelre intends to fully reconstruct the Rembrandtplein and surrounding area neighbourhood in Lichtenvoorde. The neighbourhood was built in the post-war reconstruction period and has a layout and use of materials that no longer meet current technical, functional and social requirements. The existing paved areas are outdated, the sewer system is due for replacement and the public space offers insufficient opportunities to address current challenges such as climate adaptation, sustainability and quality of life. In addition, there is a clear need for more green areas, improved infiltration of rainwater and a layout that better aligns with residents’ wishes and with the municipality’s sustainability ambitions. A carefully designed participation and environmental process is essential for the successful reconstruction of the Rembrandtplein and surrounding area neighbourhood.
