TENDER DESCRIPTION

The municipality of Oost Gelre intends to comprehensively reconstruct the Rembrandtplein and surrounding area district in Lichtenvoorde. The district was built in the post-war reconstruction period and has a layout and use of materials that no longer meet current technical, functional and societal requirements. The existing paving is outdated, the sewer system is due for replacement and public space offers insufficient opportunities to address current priorities such as climate adaptation, sustainability and quality of life. In addition, there is a clear need for more green space, improved infiltration of rainwater and a layout that better aligns with residents’ wishes and with the municipality’s sustainability ambitions. A carefully designed participation and environmental process is essential for the success of the reconstruction of the Rembrandtplein and surrounding area district.
