TENDER DESCRIPTION

DESY is a globally leading research institution in the field of particle accelerator technology. On the DESY campus in Hamburg Bahrenfeld and in the adjacent innovation park, four new buildings are currently being developed to serve as visitor centres and to expand the research infrastructure. The buildings will form important landmarks and showcase features on the site. The DESY campus forms the core of the West Campus in Hamburg and is a central part of the newly designed Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld. Located between Luruper Chaussee and Notkestraße, the research centre DESY, the facilities of the University of Hamburg, and other scientific institutions, including the Max Planck Institute, shape the site’s urban design character and its development under the framework plan. In addition to the building-oriented perspective for the science locations, the framework plan also describes the overarching development into an attractive campus that creates identity and has a high recognisability value, provides good orientation, and is more strongly networked with the surrounding neighbourhood.
