TENDER DESCRIPTION

For the visitor flows expected after the reopening of the abbey church, a modern sanitary facility accessible without barriers is to be created. For its implementation, the unused rooms of the former student association in the ground floor of the Pfortenflügel are considered particularly suitable due to their central location in the entrance area of the monastery complex. For the planned new visitor centre “Kloster Michaelsberg” in the future, a central entrance is established, which is housed on the ground floor of the Pfortenflügel and is therefore located in the direct access area of the monastery complex. Through a generous round-arched gate in the middle of the Pfortenflügel, visitors first enter a vestibule from which, on the right-hand side, the new publicly accessible WC facility can be reached barrier-free. An automatic glass sliding door system, placed behind the gate arrangement, serves as a climatic separation. By restoring a former passage currently bricked up in the northern corridor wall, the small vaulted hall to the north adjoining this passage, which is three bays wide and as deep as three aisles, and which previously served as a gathering area for the student…
