TENDER DESCRIPTION

The road maintenance contract is a target-price service contract that emphasises cooperation between the contracting authority and the contractor during the term of the contract. In the road maintenance contract, the contractor is responsible for contract management tasks, procurement of maintenance works and compliant maintenance works. The contract covers winter and summer maintenance of roads in accordance with the contract documents. The contract includes the summer and winter maintenance of roads located within the Viinijärvi contract area. The road network covered by the contract totals approximately 1,165 kilometres, of which approximately 5 km are two-lane roads (Is 2), approximately 140 km are one-lane roads (Is 1), approximately 135 km are one-lane roads (Ib 1), approximately 495 km are gravel roads, and approximately 65 km are pedestrian and cycle routes. The contract is, in terms of demandingness, a basic contract.
