TENDER DESCRIPTION

The road maintenance contract is a target-price service contract, which emphasises cooperation between the contracting authority and the contractor during the term of the contract. In the road maintenance contract, the contractor is responsible for the supervision management tasks, the procurement of maintenance works, and the maintenance work in accordance with the contract. The contract covers winter and summer maintenance of roads in accordance with the contract documents. The contract includes the summer and winter maintenance of roads located in the contracting area of Sastamala. The road network covered by the contract totals approximately 1,155 kilometres, of which approximately 135 km are Class 1 carriageway routes, approximately 140 km are Class Ib carriageway routes, approximately 500 km are gravel roads, and approximately 60 km are pedestrian and cycling paths. The contract is demanding in terms of its requirements.
