Construction of a 4th treatment stage and sewer operations yard Wastewater treatment technical equipment The Neckarsulm wastewater treatment plant has a design capacity of 200,000 PE and treats municipal and industrial wastewater. The mechanically and biologically treated wastewater is discharged into the Sulm. Due to increasingly stringent limit values for discharging the treated wastewater, the Neckarsulm wastewater treatment plant is being expanded by a treatment stage for micropollutant removal (4th treatment stage). With the new treatment stage, selected micropollutants can be removed by 80% and the overall phosphorus concentration in the annual average can be maintained at 0.2 mg/l. By expanding the wastewater treatment plant with a 4th treatment stage, the water quality of the Sulm with regard to phosphorus and the discharge of micropollutants is to be significantly improved. As the process, the Ulm process in the SBR reactor is being implemented for the first time.
