TENDER DESCRIPTION

The Waurichen volunteer fire brigade unit (Löschgruppe Waurichen) of the voluntary fire brigade Geilenkirchen plays an important role in local emergency response. Since the building currently used—which serves as a fire station—is in a structurally inadequate condition, there is a need for new construction. Suitable alternatives in the form of already existing buildings are not available. A renovation or modernization of the current site has been examined, but was rejected due to technical and spatial constraints. In particular, the vehicle hall does not provide sufficient space or the required load-bearing capacity to accommodate emergency vehicles safely in accordance with today’s standards. The current site therefore offers no long-term perspective for fire brigade operations. For this reason, a new building is to be planned at a new location.
