TENDER DESCRIPTION

The City of Biberach an der Riß (hereinafter: "CA") is a large district town (Große Kreisstadt) in Baden-Württemberg. The university town of Biberach is located in the northern Upper Swabia (Oberschwaben) and is a middle center of the Donau-Iller region in the Regierungspräsidium Tübingen. It is the largest city in the eponymous district. Together with the neighboring municipalities of Attenweiler, Eberhardzell, Hochdorf, Maselheim, Mittelbiberach, Ummendorf and Warthausen, it forms an agreed administrative community. In Biberach, many medium-sized and international companies are based, including Boehringer, Liebherr and EnBW. The CA considers providing citizens and businesses, schools and administrative institutions within the service area with high-performance and future-oriented broadband services to be an important task in the sense of public service provision (Daseinsvorsorge) as well as location security, and it is a priority objective of the CA.
